Instant lawns from fresh sod, laid on prepared soil with tight seams, for a green yard in a day.
Sod is the fastest way to a finished lawn. Instead of waiting weeks for seed to sprout, you get a green, weed-free yard the day it is laid, with immediate erosion control and a lawn you can enjoy in a few weeks. It is a smart choice for new homes, rebuilds, slopes and any spot where you cannot wait. In Middle Tennessee, tall fescue sod is popular for lawns with some shade, and bermuda and zoysia sod for sunny yards that need heat and traffic tolerance.
Success depends on what happens before the sod arrives. We prepare the soil by grading, loosening compacted ground and adding compost or starter fertilizer as needed. Fresh sod is delivered the same day and laid in a staggered pattern with tight seams, rolled for soil contact and watered immediately. We give you a detailed watering schedule, because the first two weeks decide whether the sod roots well. Soon after, we guide you on the first mow and the first feeding, and we are available to check any areas that need attention.
Grading, loosening and amending the soil lets roots grow out of the sod and into the ground.
Sod loses quality quickly after harvest, so it is delivered and installed on the same day.
Staggered, snug seams and rolling give good soil contact and a smooth finish.
You receive a clear schedule for the first weeks, which is when sod either roots or fails.
