Lime or sulfur applications guided by soil tests, so your lawn can actually use the fertilizer you apply.
Soil pH is the quiet factor behind many struggling lawns. When the soil is too acidic, nutrients such as phosphorus and calcium become harder for grass roots to use, and fertilizer is partly wasted. When it is too alkaline, iron and other micronutrients lock up and grass turns yellow. Many Middle Tennessee soils lean acidic, especially under older lawns that have received years of nitrogen, though some areas near limestone run alkaline. A simple test tells you which way your soil leans.
We apply lime or sulfur based on your soil test, never on a guess. Pelletized lime is spread evenly with a calibrated spreader and works gradually, so it often takes a few months to shift pH. We retest after a season or two to confirm the change and adjust. The treatment pairs well with core aeration, which helps it move into the root zone. When pH is in the right range, fertilizer works better, grass colors up and weed pressure often drops as the turf strengthens.
Lime on a lawn that does not need it can push pH too high. The soil test sets the rate.
Calibrated spreading keeps the product uniform, which avoids patchy changes in pH.
Lime works gradually, often over months, so results build rather than appear overnight.
A follow-up test confirms the change and guides any further treatment.

We build a calendar of treatments for your grass type and give you an itemized written estimate with options.
Visits are scheduled by season and weather, and any gates, pets or irrigation are noted.
Crews apply products and perform services with calibrated equipment and leave notes after each visit.
Each season we review the results with you and adjust the plan for the next one.
A soil test shows pH. Lime is only recommended when the soil is too acidic.
Usually a few months, and it keeps working over a year or more.
Often yes when the ground is not frozen. Fall and early spring are common.
Properly applied pelletized lime is gentle, but we still follow the label.
We may recommend sulfur or other steps, based on the test.
